Fun Facts About Wendy

I am an introverted person, born in a small town in northeastern China, where I developed a deep fascination for computers during my junior school years. This sparked a strong interest in digital media, leading me to pursue a major in Digital Media Technology to follow my dreams.

As I delved into gaming, I quickly recognized the power of storytelling in evoking emotions and bringing developers' visions to life. This realization drove me to embark on a career as a narrative designer, driven by my passion for crafting immersive narratives.

However, my path took a turn when I encountered a creative block, struggling to generate new story ideas. During this time, I faced discouragement from those around me, who belittled narrative designers and failed to recognize their understanding of game development. These remarks deeply affected me, causing me to question my current career path and company culture.

Determined to prove my worth and find my place in the industry, I sought opportunities to enhance my skills and broaden my understanding. This led me to the University of Utah, where I hoped to gain valuable knowledge and experience to overcome my challenges and continue pursuing my passion for game design.

Armed with extensive experience in Level, World, and System design, I have finally found my true calling and a sense of belonging. Throughout my journey, I have honed my skills and gained invaluable expertise in creating immersive and captivating game experiences.

With a diverse skill set, I am confident in my abilities and clearly envision what I want to achieve. My passion for game design and my strong background in narrative enable me to craft intricate and engaging levels, construct rich and immersive worlds, and develop robust systems that enhance gameplay mechanics.

Driven by my love for storytelling and my commitment to creating memorable player experiences, I am prepared to tackle new challenges and bring my unique perspective to the world of game design. With each project I undertake, I strive to push boundaries, inspire players, and make a lasting impact in the teams I am fortunate to be a part of.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me! Now that you know more about me, I'm also interested in getting to know you. --Wendy
